About Us

Our Name, Our Philosophy

In Greek mythology, Hyperion is the Titan of light, known for observing and understanding the movements of the sun, moon, and stars. His role was one of clarity, insight, and illumination.

His name was chosen because our goal is the same: to bring clarity to scientific data, to make workflows visible and manageable, and create systems that reveal meaning instead of adding noise

There are many links to this heritage in our logo. In Greek, Hyperion can be interpreted as the “watcher from above”, symbolised by the eye. His study of celestial movement represented by a central sun, framed by two moons. It represents insight – the ability to see your data clearly.

Our Mission

Many laboratories and research groups need modern digital tools but are priced out by commercial vendors for laboratory information management systems (LIMS). These systems often come bundled with expensive features no one asked for, and restrictive data policies that make it hard to access the information you own.

We’re changing that.

Our mission is simple – bring efficient, affordable informatics to laboratories, research teams, and other scientific organisations that have historically been unable to adopt traditional enterprise solutions.

We build custom software, including LIMS, that are:

  • fit-for-purpose
  • affordable
  • aligned with real scientific workflows
  • free from bloat, lock-ins, and hidden fees

Additionally, we want to help close the gap between academic research and operational practice. Valuable scientific innovations are often lost simply because researchers lack the resources or software engineering support to turn their ideas into functional tools. We believe those insights deserve to make it into the hands of practitioners.

Our Commitment

We believe every scientific organisation, whether a laboratory, a research program, or an applied forensic science unit, deserves software that empowers scientists rather than burdens them. Built on real laboratory experience, our systems aim to provide the clarity, flexibility, and autonomy.

Our Values

Practicality

We build what scientific teams actually need – not what looks impressive in a sales demo.

Transparency

Pricing, data access, architecture, documentation – nothing is hidden, locked, or obscured.

Autonomy

You should never be dependent on us to access your own data or maintain your own system.

Affordability

Software shouldn’t be a luxury. We prioritise under-funded and resource-limited laboratories and research groups.

Collaboration

We listen first. Every system is shaped with, not just for, the people who will use it.

Sustainability

We build systems that are maintainable, modern, and capable of evolving with your laboratory.

Impact

We believe good science should not remain trapped in academic papers. We help translate research ideas into operational, real-world tools.
